Plans are not formal professional documents of record and are not substitutes for site-specific professional assessments, inspections, or stamped engineering or architectural drawings.
Building codes, zoning regulations, permit requirements, and construction standards vary significantly by state, county, municipality, and jurisdiction. A plan that complies with codes in one location may not comply in another. Every plan delivered through DIY Lion includes a mandatory Local Authority Review notice. You are solely responsible for submitting your project to and receiving approval from your local building department, planning commission, or other relevant authority before commencing any construction, renovation, or modification work.
DIY Lion professionals deliver plans remotely. They are not physically present during the execution of your project. They cannot observe actual site conditions, assess structural integrity in real time, inspect work in progress, or guarantee that the finished result will meet safety, structural, or code requirements. You are solely responsible for the safe execution of all work.
All professionals listed on the DIY Lion platform are required to carry active Errors and Omissions (E&O) professional liability insurance. However, the purchase of a plan through DIY Lion does not create a formal professional engagement, client relationship, or duty of care beyond the delivery of the plan itself. DIY Lion LLC is not liable for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in plans, or for any injury, property damage, code violations, failed inspections, or financial losses arising from the use of any plan.
By purchasing a plan or using the DIY Lion platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this disclaimer in full. You accept sole responsibility for verifying local code compliance, obtaining required permits, executing the work safely, and ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the finished project.
