Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the DIY Lion platform at diylion.com ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. DIY Lion LLC reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time with notice posted on the Platform.

2. Platform Description

DIY Lion is a two-sided marketplace that connects homeowners ("Customers") with independent licensed trade professionals ("Pros") who deliver custom DIY project plans. DIY Lion LLC acts solely as an intermediary and does not itself provide professional trade services, engineering, architecture, or construction management.

3. User Accounts

You may use the Platform without creating an account for informational purposes. To submit a project or apply as a Pro, you must provide accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials.

4. Customer Terms

• Plans are delivered as informational documents only. See our Platform Disclaimer for full details.
• All sales are final upon plan delivery unless the plan fundamentally fails to address the submitted project scope.
• You are solely responsible for local code compliance, permitting, and safe execution of any work.
• You may not redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit plans delivered through the Platform.

5. Professional Terms

• Pros must hold active, valid licenses for their declared trade in their declared jurisdiction.
• Pros must carry active Errors and Omissions (E&O) professional liability insurance.
• Pros are independent contractors, not employees of DIY Lion LLC.
• Pros receive 80–85% of the plan fee at MVP launch. Commission rates may be adjusted with 30 days' notice.
• Pros must deliver plans within the agreed timeframe (target: 24–72 hours for standard plans).
• Pros may not solicit customers outside the Platform for projects originating on the Platform for 12 months.

6. Payments

Payments are processed via Stripe. DIY Lion LLC collects payment from Customers and disburses the Pro's share following plan delivery and Customer confirmation. Disputes must be raised within 7 days of plan delivery.

7. Prohibited Uses

• Submitting false or misleading project information
• Impersonating a licensed professional
• Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose
• Attempting to circumvent the Platform for direct payment arrangements

8. Limitation of Liability

DIY Lion LLC's total liability to any party shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific plan giving rise to the claim. DIY Lion LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Brazoria County, Texas.
